Could you be more specific -- what do you need help with? It looks like something you may have acquired through inheritance, gift, or purchase. If you let us know what your plans are (sell it, start collecting, already collector but would like more info...), we would have a better idea of how to reply.
There are at least 2 stamps issued after 1940 in your pile. So it looks like somebody added onto it. |

I can't help you with the currency, nor the revenue stamps.
The postage stamps are mostly from the late 1800s and early 1900s. A quick glance indicates you have a nice assortment of mostly US, with some Germany and Austria, and at least 2 stamps from elsewhere (pic too small for me to tell what country). Most of your stamps appear to be relatively common, and a noticeable percentage is not in good shape. I see a few that catalog for a few dollars IF they were in undamaged very fine condition. Quick glance doesn't reveal any premium items (e.g, $100+), but maybe somebody with better eyes can spot something. You can disregard those prices scribbled above the stamps. Most aren't even close to the correct catalog value. A spot check of the higher amounts indicate actual catalog values one (even two) orders of magnitude less, so don't get excited about any of those $70.00, $140.00... notations -- the sampling I checked only catalog for a few dollars at best.
It is a nice beginning collection. However, the album pages are clearly not in good shape. I would not continue to use those album pages. I leave it to someone else to make suggestions regarding proper mounting/storage of your stamps.
Enjoy building up on your stamp collection! |

Without some actual close-up shots some of the CSA currancy some look like replicas. This being said, no matter what it is; currancy, stamps, letters or books its condition, condition, condition. The values printed above the items are/were full catalog value. If you are planning on selling, it should be more realistic based on condition.

Quote: ...I have from 1880-1970 every stamp that was made... That would be very roughly ~300,000 different stamps. Very very very few collections reach that numerical level. If you don't already have catalogs, some public libraries have stamp and currency catalogs either for circulation or for reference. Although the information in them is sometimes overkill and can be overwhelming, you might find thumbing through them useful (especially the introductory information sections). |

The albums you showed do not appear comprehensive. An album set holding 300,000 stamps would be 50+ 3" binders with 10,000+ total pages.
You have a nice collection, but it does not appear as comprehensive as you think, whether for WW or for US. Perhaps you have misunderstood the album as having allotted space for every single stamp, which your album doesn't. It appears to be simply a generic grid marking spaces to place stamps.
I am not aware of USPS having subscription service until the 1970s. |
