I just got back my FDC of the inverted jenny stamp and found that the one that also included the C10 Lindbergh was missing. The others were all returned. Has this happened to others? Is there any hope of trying to get it without too much hassle or should I just do it again Tom

give it a little more time. I had sent a series of Lighthouse covers for FDC cancels to each of the 5-cities. They did not all come back at the same time. I had sent a multiple set to the Boston location in one envelope and received separate covers from Kansas City in clear wrapper. They were about 5-7 days between. KC takes every effort to make sure the covers are perfect and will give the opportunity for replacing damaged goods. |

The cancellation division did call me back and were helpful to me. It will get replaced or hopefully they'll find it. Tom |

I just don't want to think that someone took it. Well as I said in another post stamps have taught me patience. Tom |

As of this post I've heard nothing. What are my chances? Do you think they would reimburse me so I can get another C10 and then cancel it first day for me. Tom |

I'm still in the waiting mode after sending the letter in so the story goes on. Tom |

Not sure if I did this correct but this is what the post office replaced my cover with. Tom |

If you see in some of my earlier posts I actually put a C10 as the stamp not a C3. As far as value is concerned I'm way ahead so I think I'll leave well enough alone. Tom |

I already have a few covers with 2013 Jenny Invert, I really like yours including a C3. So was that a mint C3 that has now been cancelled, or is that just an image of one? |

sdtom: I think that is a magnificent cover and I think the C3 (vice the C10) really is striking. The Cache is also really nice. I'm glad they came through for you (Maybe Santa put his 2cents in for being such so patient. |

It was a uncancelled C3 as far as I can tell. I think it looked much better than what I sent in but I had a C10 unused in a G grade. I believe there is a story to be told in the First Day Cover Society. Tom |

Congratulations!
However, I hope they didn't replace your cover with someone else's "lost" cover! |

That I'm not sure but it might be that they had a jenny and didn't have the Lindbergh. I will write and thank her. Tom |
