This stamp has me stumped. I am not even sure that it is an overprint although it is mint so I am assuming that it is… Any input/suggestions as to its identify would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance Don

It really does look like a slogan box cancel. There's more faint text in the middle of the stamp - at least two more lines. There's not enough of it for me to match it with anything unfortunately. If the stamp was once part of a strip or block that was affixed to cover the gum could still be intact if it wasn't fully affixed to the cover to begin with - partially or barely licked. I wouldn't call this stamp mint.
I believe I can see French part words. Top line MIGHT be "TELEGRAPHIE" and the bottom line is "FRANCAISE". The POSTES would seem to rule out a telegraph stamp but an overprint or slogan might be possible. Weird one, anyway!
