From 1840 to 1970 with some exceptions where I go further - Canada, NZ and GB.

1840 - 1959 Worldwide

I like the designs up to 1959 and the stamps after 1940 are certainly cheaper.

There is no set timeframe. My oldest stamp is from the 1870's. The vast majority of my collecting dates from the mid-1930's to date, worldwide.

I also started with a Harris Ambassador Album. Mainly US around the middle 50s and through about 1965. Then I started getting active again around 1974 collecting some older issues (used Columbians etc). Have some European issues that I collected while living overseas for 6 years when I was in my teens. Stopped again and just started filling some holes now that I'm retired.
