Waiting for a possible goody I purchased the other day. Lots of suspicious white under CANADA POSTAGE and very strange nose tip on Queen Victoria. Early Needle-nose?

Coinwatcher, Hard to say from the scan. Consider that if it was a re-entry, the extra marks would likely be yellow (re-entry almost always show doubling of some engraving lines) while from the scan, I can see "white sections under postage, more likely from "under inking" vs re-entering...My thoughts, but others may have different interpretation...

I would say this was a matter of dry paper.
The ink did not take well to the paper, so the paper was probably not damp as I believe it normally was.
If it was under-inking, I would expect the entire stamp to be light.
Just my opinion.

Hi COINWATCHER

I agree with 3Dadeo that the stamp is under-inked.

Reentries always add ink to the impression - never do they delete any impression.
