Hello,
We inherited a modern postage stamp album. We've never collected stamps and we are looking for some direction. We've been doing some research in the Scott's catalogue but are getting frustrated because there are so many variables. We live on Long Island, NY. We think there may be some valuable stamps but most are probably not worth much.
Thanks in advance for any help anyone can offer.

Try scanning some pages to show them here. Someone might give you a general idea of what you have in terms of (catalogue) value. But please be aware catalogue value and actual value are two basically unrelated things...

Of course show some pictures/scans. What album are the stamps housed in? Is there a name?

Thank you all for responding. The stamps are housed in the "Modern postage stamp album". Many of the foreign countries are filled, there are not too many US stamps and there are a lot of loose stamps. I didn't know which ones to scan so I just picked a few.

Hi Nancie some fun looking stamps there. Some revenue,China, Russia area,Japan. Nothing of much monetary value. Most of the Modern albums date from the 1940's and are more of a beginner/intermediate starter album. There are 28 of the Modern albums for sale on ebay and quite modestly priced.
