Here is some of my newest acquisitions from this morning. I blew my stamp budget for this month but I think they're worth it. Makes me feel a little better anyway. Enjoy.

Blood's Penny Post. Acid tied.
Scott #15L13 on folded letter via Blood's despatch. Sent on August 20th, 1852.

Auction listing notes:
"Nice letter from mother to son, who has been sick and mother is telling him how she found out about his condition."




Cherry Brand Confectioner's bi-colored illustrated advertising cover.




New illustrated tobacco advertising covers:

they're a bit tattered but no worries I got them on the cheap!

That "Cherries Brand" cover is addressed to S. Mills Ely & Co., Binghamton, NY. In case you were wondering, here's a period billhead I uncovered on the internet from S. Mills Ely & Co.:

I also found that they was in a bit of trouble over a work related accident too at one time!
