This is my 1st time on this forum. My knowledge is very limited in this area. That is for sure.

A bulk lot came my way and in it was many different bundles of a 100 pre stamped envelop cut outs.

The cut outs are mostly from the last 40 years and 95% of them are colourful Australia Birds, animals of all sorts. They are very neatly cut into a uniform size. Someone put a lot of work into these cut outs.

Any help gratefully received.

KGV

These are called cut squares when there is paper around them and cut outs when they are cut to shape around the embossed or printed design.

Postal stationery endicia or indicia is the design and the phospher tagger usually and the stated denomination.

I enjoy them in Canada now to see postmarks on them at times.

A lot of them from many countries are collected beacause of their beauty and they are usually priced as a full envelope, including envelope size and paper type, in the catalogues.

I have read on here under US forums that the US ones are priced by cut squares also.

I would theink a postmark collector would be happy to bid on them, or a topical collector. They can be also called stamped envelopes.

Hope you and family have had a good Christmas and New Year's.

Doug

You could as dmin to move this topic to Main or modern I think if wanted.

Oops, forgot to say that they are not considered Cinderella type stamps.

Actually they are in the category of "stationery" - and as mentioned "cut squares." Cut squares have some sale value in the USA (and perhaps elsewhere) but almost none in Canada.
