re: ebay I have generally seen stamps selling for 10-30% of catalogue.

Nice cancels can result in 100%+ of catalogue.

Most low value stamps start at $1 even if the CV is $0.20. Sales are light, but do happen when the postmark is nice and the buyer secures multiple specimens in order to dollar cost average on the shipping price.

It is unfortunate that the Unitrade Pricing Committee does not use realized prices from ebay which is the largest stamp marketplace in the world. I would challenge anyone on that pricing committee to show me who last sold a VF used bluenose for $100.

At the same time I can appreciate if there is fear that dropping CV's to be more in line with actual market prices would drop the bottom out of the market, because now everyone has been trained to pay less than 50% of CV. If the VF used bluenose drops to $30 CV (pretty close to actual ebay realized prices), then people will want it for $15 or less. That's the fear anyway, I would guess.
