Appears to be doubling of UR picture frame. Is this common on this stamp? Does anyone else have one with this doubling?

The only thing odd about that stamp is the fact that it's the ugliest
Canadian stamp ever printed and one wonders why such
a thing was ever issued.

The Canadian Bank Note Co was experimenting in 1969
with different printing methods to print in multicolour.

This mishmash experiment was such a disaster
that CBNC never printed anything via photogravure
again.

After that they realized that offset/litho was the way
to go for multicolour printing.

wert that's great that you have such printing knowledge.

I hope you join in when or if any threads come up
which are related to the different printing methods
of stamp production.

I guess most collectors and forum members find that stuff boring
but for me it's a big part of why I collect.
