I was wondering if, when, and what the new postal rates would be this year when I came across something interesting..

The first-class Metered Mail rate. Essentially, customers who use online postage providers (such as stamps.com) or a meter will be able to pay $0.48 instead of $0.49 to mail an envelope.

This naturally will lead to the decrease in use of stamps, especially probably with local businesses who mail a lot but not enough for a presort rate. Oh well.
