When I started collecting again I focused mostly on US (MNH, or used when price dictates). However I have been accumulating some used lots for several Southeast Asian countries as I have spent much time there in the last decade. A few months ago I decided to start a MNH Laos collection. I chose Steiner pages with Hawid clear mounts, printed on 110 lb (199 g/m^2) index card stock. I must admit, I am very pleased.

I thought I'd show a few pages to SCF, since well, we all like looking at stamps!

Love those Laos stamps, I've always found their early issues to be very attractive.

Yes the early stamps from Laos, Cambodia & Vietnam are really something to collect. Most of them were engraved and printed in France. The elephants set displayed above was infact the best stamps engraved by the artist and won the stamps design award in a competition held in Paris the same year.

I don't collect them actively but have a few of them including the elephants set as well as some flowers sets. Now I need to rethink and start my journey into collecting them.

Interesting. One rarely hears of awards for stamp production.
