Hi..Take a look at the "8" cent Scott #593 as compared to the Scott #587 and Scott #591....The perforations on the Scott #587 and #591 go right to the border of the block..But, the Scott #593, the perforations stop before the edge of the block..Is this normal..Does anyone else have the same block to tell me if this is what this block is suppose to look like..Thanks.

Hi Wert. I guess they used so many perforations on the first two they did not have enough to finish the job on Scott 593! No, serious, if you look at the selvedge on 593 there is writing on it. If the perfs were supposed to go all the way to the edge they would have made room in the writing like in the other two examples you showed.
Just a different way of doing things!
I see ( I think ) another difference in the printing. It looks like 587 and 591 are tagged, and 593 is not. Is this true?

Peter

The one plate block on the left was printed by the British American Bank Note Company (BABNC) while the two plate blocks on the right were printed by the Canadian Bank Note Company (CBNC) which means that they may have used slightly different perforators with different pin and hole pattern arrangements as well as sometimes maybe a different gauge.
