Thought I would share an Olympic Moment:

The first cards are 3 of a set of Torch Run cancellations I purchased from the USPS. These cancellations were from cities which had the Olympic Torch pass through on its way to the 1984 Games in LA.

The next 2-photos are cancellations which I requested from Olympic Events Stations which the USPS had set up for fans to send gifts, letters from each event. This was a daunting task to say the least as the cards were sent in bulk, in an envelope. The individual card had a code written in the lower right corner to identify the event cancel requested, and then cancelled the day of the medals event, & sent through the USPS system for delivery. There were over 40 stations set up, including opening & closing ceremonies and the main USPS Station in LA. Credit to the USPS as there were only 1 or 2 issues needing replacement and those were provided with a bonus cancellation or two and a note from the Postmaster of Los Angeles apologizing for the 'less than standard' service. Given the task they had, the number of requests, the distance carried, the USPS won Gold on this event. (Curious if any other cover collector has a set??)

I attended a baseball game there. It was some sort of a Fuji promotion and being in the camera business we got tickets.
