New Discovery: Canada # 340 With Two Different Perforations

Here's another stamp with different perforations. It is Scott/Unitrade Canada # 340. The block on the right is less common than the block on the left since the perforation change did not happen until the last plate number 19 and only on some with plate 19 while all of the other plate numbers from 1 to 19 including most of 19 have the same more common other perforation. I have tried to line up the top vertical perforations between both blocks to show how they change from each other as they go down to show the change. Also, the perforation holes on the right are slightly bigger than the ones on the left.

Another similar situation occurs with the Wilding Scott/Unitrade Canada # 338 as with the above.

It's all in the booklet "The Canadian Stamp Perforation Change of 1962". What some are not aware of is that several Canadian stamps had long printing runs with their highest numbered plates going into 1962 and later so that they were affected by this change. The Wildings were first issued in 1954 which was for the first plate numbers. However, by the time # 338 was printed with plate # 20 and # 340 was printed with plate # 19, it was around 1962 and some were affected by the perforation change near the end of the issue.
