For anyone who wants to take the study of postal stationery to a really different level, and has reasonably deep pockets The Royal Philatelic Society has just announced publication of a two volume magnum opus on the History of Postal Stationery, 1869-1974

At GBP115 (about USD150) it's quite a steep price, but knowing the quality of their previous publications I'm sure it will be worth it. It won't be a substitute for Higgins and Gage, though, but complimentary.

This modern postal stationery is postmarked Waitangi, Chatham Islands, 26 Sp 83.

From Wikipedia, "The Chatham Islands form an archipelago in the Pacific Ocean about 800 kilometers (500 mi) east of the South Island of New Zealand. Politically, they are part of New Zealand. The archipelago consists of about ten islands within an approximately 60 kilometer (37 mi) radius, the largest of which are Chatham and Pitt Island...As of 2013, the islands had a resident population of 600...Chatham and Pitt are the only inhabited islands."

At a loss to explain this card.
Very thin, seems too fragile for a postcard.

U.S. postal cards are relatively thin items; much thinner that a postcard. My Scott U.S. Specialized catalog doesn't provide any additional information on this postal card.

It was interesting to read "non phosphored"
Mine has a shiny rounded rectangle of something, over the "FOREVER"
I was assuming that to be tagging.
I do not have a UV light.

The paper does not have the taggant added as part of the paper manufacturing process, hence "non phosphored", but it does have the taggant applied to the surface as a block. That is what you are seeing. It would be interesting to see if the ink is applied on top of the taggant block, or underneath it. Should be on top.

Here is a French 1c newspaper band. There were three types issued between 1882-98. The 1882 issue has "borders with colored dividing line" (Michel). This one, from 1892 (Mi. #S4) lacks the colored line. The 1898 printing has the printing date.

One end is gummed.
