Any Interest In World Postal Stationery?

PoStat4evR, Greetings: Is your Hawaiian card (above) up-rated, or re-rated? The sender may have thought that the Hawaiian indicia(?) would not be honored, wanted to use this card (for whatever reason) and, therefor, put a penny stamp on his penny postcard.

According to what I have read, the Hawaiian stationery and stamps went off use as of June 14, 1900, just shortly after the Hawaian Islands became an official territory. I can therefore assume the placing of the newer US stamp paid for the transit postage.
I would need a lot ore research on dates/ rates etc. But perhaps someone who may see this can expound on it.

Here are a few cards for this week....

1st is from Nepal. It is a registered cover, front and back shown (lots of stamps..must have been for a collector):






The next item is from south of the border, Mexico. This letter sheet has seen better days, but I like all the postmarks, which allow you to trace the letter through the mail stream...




Next, a newer item from Norfolk Island (South Pacific)is this envelope. They make a lot of nice photo material on their stationery..





and finally for this time... 2 items from St Helena Island in the south Atlantic Ocean. The postal card is one of the older items, the Air Letter is somewhat newer...






In case you haven't figured it out, worldwide postal stationery is one of my main collecting interests. Does anyone want to see any particular country (if I have it)? Post some of your own items, always fun to look....

I like my postal stationery well and truly used for preference - like this pair of the two types of Sixth Raja 4 Pies postcards from Cochin:

First, Deschl C42:



Registered, and used (late) in March 1950. The 3 Anna stamp has the (constant) coloured flaw to the mouth of the Maharaja as well, and

Registered also; the extra anna was for an Advice of Receipt - the form is still attached to the back. Used December 1949

Good grief, tonymacg, that one bears everything but the weekly grocery list.

Oh, wait, there it is: "Amaranthus - fresh, this time; Bhendi; Colocasia - Tamilnadu ONLY ..."

They certainly believed in getting their money's worth out of their postal stationery in Cochin ... (Actually, I gather a large cache of returned mail found its way onto the market a few years ago. I was able to pick up a few nice items, of postal stationery and non-stationery covers.)

Here is another, rather well-used, postal stationery card from the elder brother of the Maharaja on the last card (Deschl C33 - Type I Die A):



used 16 August 1947

And a postal stationery cover from his elder brother, Deschl E21



and dated 22 July 1947.

In those last days of the independent Cochin Post Office, things were rather hectic, with Indian independence in August 1947, and the practice in the Cochin royal family of the throne passing down through all the brothers before then passing to sons. (The Maharaja on the envelope above ruled from 1941 to 1943, his brother from 1943 to 1946, the next Maharaja from 1946 to 1948, and the last Maharaja from 1948 until the State PO closed in 1951.)

Spain, 1999, a cover from a series of 24 scenes taken from the Don Quixote novels work by Antonio Mingote. Inside there's a sheet of paper (DIN-A4 size) with the same illustration than on the cover.

Cursus: I don't have the chance to see a lot of "Modern" Spain items. Thanks for sharing!

Here are four more items I thought I would share.

The first is a "formular" airletter, used by the United Nations Emergency Forces in Italy to a RCAF Italy outpost.




The second is another United NAtions item. I have always liked this one as they (UN) show a fun side to airmail, with the paper airplane!
Note: United Nations is easy to get mint, but VERY hard to find legitimately used items.




This 3rd item moves us to the continent of Africa. Upper Senegal and Niger to be precise. Issued 1917...





The last is an official Wurttemberg (Germany) envelope.

Well, I don't collect Spain. But, I picke these items related to my country, Catalonia, and my city, Barcelona.

Cacheted cover commemorating the 2006 Barcelona Philabarna Stamp Exhibition, devoted to the Centennary of the Royal Catalan Automobil Club.

Both items have an illustration of the scene of the Don Quixote novel, when he first saws the sea.
On the book, this actually happens on Barcelona's beach. The artist, Antonio Mingote, was born in Catalonia.

2) RO's Postal Stationery ( Code 091/99), 1949 - 1999 Romania - China , 50 years of diplomatic relationships ; the pictures , on the left a RO's old wooden church , on the right Guangzhou's Six Banyan Pagoda.
Special cancellation : World Philatelic Exhibition CHINA '99 with date 25.08.99 the date of UPU Congress opening.

Nice items showing up in here still.
