Roland Rekord Offset Press

This article in Australian Stamp Bulletin March1978
concerns the printing of the 1977 $10 painting definitive.
This was the first Australian multicolour offset
stamp issued.
Printed by Asher & Co, Melbourne on a two colour
Roland Rekord sheet fed press , the paper had to be fed twice
to print the four colours required.

Why hadn't Asher&Co bought a press that could
handle 4, 5 or even more colours at one pass?
The 1968 Roland Rekord RVK III 4 colour offset press
was available.

Curious if that issue had many misregistered colours?
Any one know?

Its no wonder that printing press manufacturers are in trouble
when one takes in consideration the drop not only
in stamp production but also in newspapers, magazines, books.
Even banknotes are down. For instance here in Canada
instead of the popular $1 and $2 bills we have coins now for the
last 25 years or so.
And starting a couple of years ago bills are now made of polymer
which is supposed to last way longer than banknote paper.
