If I'm seeing this right it is the "Zigzag in spandrels" 1860 -1861 issue. Looks rather crude to me, but why would someone forge a cheap stamp like this ? Or is it legit ?

I'd say it is genuine. It is supposed to be rather crude I think. What makes you think it is a forgery?

Simply the overall appearance. I think the CV for the stamp used is around $6 for Fine used which is why I didn't just file it in my forgery bin.
