Japan issued a stamp on the Kiso Observatory, that is located on Mt. Ontake, Nagano Prefecture. I believe the stamp shows the Rosette Nebula, NGC 2237-9, & 2246. The star cluster is NGC2244 and is associated with the diffuse nebula, in the constellation Monoceros. Scott number Z280, issued April 9, 1999.  |

North Korea issued a stamp on the Kyongju Observatory, also known as the Chomsongdae Observatory. It is located in Gyeongju. The observatory was established in the 7th century during Queen Seondeok's Leadership (632-647). Scott number 3030.  |
