Hi guys...Take a look at this 1898 XMAS stamp...All the red ink from another stamp transferred to the gum side of this stamp...Is it common, does anyone else have the same oddity..??...Thanks.
Wert, things have not gotten any better either! I collect US Transportation Coils and one of my most favorites is an 8.3 cent coil that shows an Ambulance. It was issued in the mid-80's, 21 June 1985 to be precise. There is a collectors version of this stamp, and a BEP overprinted stamp, making it a precancel. I have no idea why, but out of all the coils in that series the green Ambulance seems to bleed more than any other. If you mail these stamps and put several together in the glassine, they will sometimes still leave a clear print on the back of others, even after some two decades!
