I have a hole in my collection for 186. Can anyone describe the Die II differences? I'm sure I have it -- but my Unitrade catalog doesn't describe the die differences and my Scott catalog doesn't even list a Die II. Thanks!

It says: Die I displays a dot in the letter "O" of the word TWO; Die II does not have the dot in the letter "O".

I highly recommend buying or borrowing the 2014 Newfoundland Specialized Stamp Catalogue (Walsh and Butts)--or earlier versions.

It is the definitive bible for Newfoundland stamps etc

Joglii is right on:

Die I has a dot at 2 o'clock position on the "O" of "TWO"

Die II has no dot. it is a constant variety, I believe--the value is about the same though

The more interesting variants are the perforations, which can significantly multiple the value (from $1 to like $20 or $40)

Got any more Newfies?
