Well, I found 6 old Puffin stamps from 'Lundy Island'. I posted about them in the World forum, but it seems they are at best a 'Local' or even a 'Cinderella'... So I mention them here.
They are all 6 different, mint, and hinged to a thin piece of paper made into a folder. They appear to be at least from the 1950s. Dad would have collected them as a child. The paper is thin and pretty much turning to dust if disturbed. The stamps are very healthy though.
I also found a sheet of 'stamps' that start with the #1 and a portrait of Washington, then number each president through #35, which was JFK. Another year appropriate set for Dad to collect when younger.
Then there is a single stamp. It appears mostly pink, has a portrait of Washington, if memory serves, and has a slogan for the Democrat party... Again, appears to be a presidential campain stamp for an unnamed democrat in the 50s... Maybe early 60s? I assume this would have been affixed to mail as a political promotion???
