The latest USPS Bulletin says there are more than 1200 murals and 200 sculptures in post offices nationwide that provide artistic links to U.S. history. Here are a few examples:

Here's more on the WPA Murals (many of which are in post offices ... and a link to the post office locations where murals remain in place):

I was photographing my post office for the philatelic database ...

... http://www.philatelicdatabase.co/po...-11421-2014/ ...

... and, for the first time, bothered to *read* the plaque out front ...

... whereupon I went back inside to look at the mural, which I saw any number of times in my youth, and yet again in the past ~year, and never like, you know, noticed ...

... and could not photograph because the camera battery died after capturing the plaque.

Cheers,

/s/ ikeyPikey

wt1: gawd, you're quick.

I think I did a better job on the plaque, myself.

Cheers,

Because of the recent USPS release showing some Post Office murals...

...I am sharing one that I finally noticed in the Concord MA PO:

Not sure if it is of WPA vintage...

I recently received the Post Office Murals sheet and I have to say it's quite beautiful. Unfortunately my post office locally does not have any murals. Instead I get to appreciate the ones you all post here!
