Hi,
Recently I have been clearing out my garage, I came across 3 old Wax Seal Hand Stampers, I was wondering if people collect these? I have made an inquiry about them to the museum local to me, They nearly ate my hand off for them, offering £75-£100 each, (3 in total) offered me £100 for the 1st one I showed them, the other offer for the 2nd was £75 and the 3rd was £95, one thing that really put me off selling to them was the fact they stressed that these would never be sold on and never be touched by the public again, Im in a split mind at the moment what to do with them, 1.) do I hang onto them for awhile? 2.) do I sell them to the museum never to be touched again? 3.) do I wait until a collector wants to buy them?
I just disagree with the fact they want to keep them out of the public's pocket so to speak, I would be much more relaxed knowing that a collector or hobbyist has them and pray they would not sell to the museum for a profit.
Turbo

Hi TurboJay,

Do some research first. Do not sell without knowing the value of what you have, the offer of around £300 seems very low to me. I have seen $350 (£208) being asked for a Wells Fargo seal stamper.

Given the tight budgets most museums run under these days, unless it's an extraordinarily nice item, you can bet that the offer you received is very low for the market.
