Forgive me if I'm just missing this in my Scott catalog! Where should I look?

Southpaw: great image. Based on my old catalogue it looks like Canada Scott#232 (King George VI; KG6) that someone has doodled with.

Your stamp is off-centered, southpaw.

Looks like a surcharge or a denomination change from the obvious 2¢ to 1¢. I don't think that it being a wee-bit off center has anything to do with anything with the exception of being rude.

Cynical - that's what I figured too because I could not find anything on the Google. But then I'm not much of a Canadian stamp expert

cynical is correct. It's 232 with someone filling in the value boxes and adding the "1".

It is a bit offset, making it used F instead of VF.

It also removes the "S" at Cents. I recall seeing something similar a few years ago, but can't find where. Certainly an interesting stamp

I'll be the first to admit that I know really nothing about Canadian stamps but if it was an honest to goodness surcharge why would the king be scored out? Maybe worth a little further research?

I dont really know, but in my opinion the stamp does have a bared cancel..BUT the colouring of the 2 cents is not in line with the bar cancellation and the colour on the 2 cents does not line up...Look below, removed the stamp and left the cancellation only..I think some one had fun with a marker..Why, probably just for kicks.
