Hi guys..Unitrade does not show this variety/error in their catalog..Looks like the stem to the flower is invisible..See the pic below..Maybe it is normal..I don't really know.

Have you examples that show something different?

All of the stamps I have looked at all show this design feature. Pretty hard to be a "variety/error" when all stamps have the same "invisibility".

A better question would be, "why did the designer or engraver illustrate the stem in that manner?"

Here are two on ebay from seller rehautala
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Canada-426-4...em2ed0548ea9

The ones shown on ebay have missing left and right stems, while the one shown here is missing only the left hand stem.

So true Robin...Don't know what he/she was thinking..I have found lots and lots of anomalies in stamps over the years..I don't know who proof reads them before they go into production.

Here's an exact opposite of the stamp link Puzzler posted ... the stem looks like it is in front of (rather than behind) the left flower!

Minor color shifts make for an interesting study, don't they?

Puzzler:

The examples on ebay are not missing anything. It is a colour shift that gives the illusion of something missing.

And, none of the examples shown in this thread are missing anything either.
