Hi All

I was doing some inventory work on my Canadian military mail collection and noticed this machine cancellation. It is a common machine cancellation, but, I noticed that the indicia section has both Halifax and Dartmouth in the dater section. I know that the two places are not that much apart, but, why are the two together on one cancellation?

Bujutsu...I am no expert, but they are as far as I know, pretty much (almost) the same place as say Kitchener/Waterloo...

If I had to guess (and I am just guessing), Dartmouth postal services were administered by the Halifax GPO (given that Halifax is right next door). It is interesting to note that Dartmouth is now subsumed into the Halifax Regional Municipality and no longer a city in its own right (as of 1996).
