Found this on-line image of some 1940s era Poster Stamps featuring Flags as part of the Founding of the Pan-American Union (Poster Stamps created by Fred H. Dietz):

In the bottom center position is a stamp entitled "Flag of the Americas". Has anyone ever heard of that Flag before and/or its use and what it represents?

It seems to me I have seen that somewhere before. It strikes me as something related to the Spanish colonization of the Americas such as Tierra Firme or Nueva Granada (not the Republic of Nueva Granada which is just Colombia).

Flag of the Americas is a much better term than that used in Wikipedia of "Bandera de la Raza Hispánica" viz. Flag of the Hispanic Race. Racism is still exists among Hispanics and it has survived for 500 years.

Thanks. I see this quote pretty much explains its usage on that 1940 Poster Stamp Sheet:

Quote:
The flag was officially adopted as the Flag of the Americas—in this usage representing besides Hispanic Americans also Anglo Americans, Franco Americans (the Québécois, Haitians, Guadeloupians, Martininqians, and French Guianians), Portuguese and Brazilian Lusitanic Americans, Dutch Americans (the inhabitants of the Dutch Antilles and Surinam), and Greenlanders—by all member countries of the Pan-American Conference at their Seventh Assembly in 1933.
