Is this normal to have a doubled inner frame line? I am talking about the line to the right of the white right vertical inner frame line.

Hi Coinwatcher. I don't have a copy of this stamp to check, but your last blow-up shows the horizontal and vertical mesh lines to the right of the queen's head as quite normal ... no overlap or doubling apparent anywhere. I am willing to bet that you have a "normal" variety of such stamp. Do you have another to compare?

I've just checked 5 pane and 2 souvenir sheet stamps and all are the same as CoinWatcher's, although his/her forehead example appears to be a litle stronger than mine, but not significantly.

Anyone know the reason behind the shading below the lower lip of the 1952 portrait. (It looks as though the lipstick was smeared.)

Anyway, here's a nice image of the stamp (taken from an ebay listing) that clearly shows the vertical lines outside the white frame on the stamp as shown in the original scan:

I just checked this stamp with my new black light and it has no tagging. Is this listed?(I am using a 2012 cat.)

The Unitrade is correct. There are a couple of ways to verify this...

1. check other stamps; they are all untagged.

2. read Canada Post Details. The July-September 2012 issue included an Erratum (pg 3) that states: "The $2 Queen Elizabeth II engraved pane of eight stamps and souvenir sheet of one stamp do not have tagging."

Obviously this correction was not passed on to the people who maintain the Canada Post website. (never trust everything on the internet!)
