This year will mark 200 years (bicentennial) of British/Canadian-US friendship (1814-2014). Do you know of any postage stamp joint issues between United Kingdom, Canada and United States to commemorate this event?

I am glad the US never did end up conquering Canada. There probably wouldn't be the Rick Mercer Report, and I would miss that. |

I am also glad that Canada did not end up conquering the US (1812). Except of course Hockey.
There probably wouldn't be the CFL. I would really miss that. |

Well, while the British did lauch attacks and raids on US targets along the border, I don't know if you could say that Canada ever really attacked the US or tried to conquer it. |

smauggle - Canada burned the USA seat of government and sent the army and politicians scurrying. The event is commemorated (for some bizarre reason) in the USA national anthem. And in your white-washed "House." |

I was hoping that there would be some kind of joint stamp issue this year since one was planned in 1914 but it was interrupted due to WWI. |

I think, but hope not, that they forgot to get something into the works between them. Why miss such an opportunity? |

I doubt that anything will be printed regarding the peaceful border. There are other and more recent events that overshadow this accomplishment. I'm referring to 1914, the beginning of the Great War, and June 1944, D-Day. Undoubtedly, the issues for the War of 1812 that have already been produced will be seen as adequate and we will have to infer that peace has existed between us all these years. |
