A New Angle To Collecting Stamps.

Hi guys...Here is a little different angle to stamp collecting, just for the fun of it...Here is a "first day of issue" envelope..I traced the address to see who owned this letter originally in 1949...Nothing earth shattering, but different..
I know...silly eh..??

WHO HAD IT ORIGINALLY and where they lived in 1949.

Neat. Over time neighbour-hoods change, though and the house or building could have been destroyed (war time countries) or renovated or moved even or something.

It is something like collecting the personally made postcards with personal photos on, or even personal stamps, when you know a bit about where the people are and what they did or are doing (private) or someone famous.

With Google earth, this is much easier to look up. For instance, just received an email at our Stamp club address asking for US issue to be sent to a club in Russia, with a promise of reciprocation. I thought it innocent enough as the message was very straight forward. So, I plugged in the address and Got an instant hit. Pretty neat to see where something is coming from.
Even if the area was renovated, the image of the place it may have been is still pretty cool.
Would you print a picture to go with the cover?

Ya guykickinit I think I will/would, cause its for my own personal gratification even though it means nothing to other collectors.
