Two Covers From 1920-S - Inverted Rpo Cancel ?

Here are two newly acquired covers -- both Newfoundland items from the 1920s:

1. a registered cover 1929 from Come-By-Chance (population of 72 back then) to stamp dealer Everett Erle in San Francisco. I like the simple use of the 6 cent #150 and the 8 cent #151). Photo of back shows 4 cancels along the way.

2. a registered postal envelope 1926 (#U2, with watermark, probably cream paper 140/78mm) from St Johns to Lennoxville. This one excited me. I like the single use of the 24 cent #144 (hard to find on a cover). But the backstamp cancels really grabbed my attention : 3 RPO cancels, including Nov 9 on Quebec train Sherbrooke & Levis (Q-281 Ludlow), and a Maritime RPO on Dec 8 Halifax & Camp (MA-80), but in between is what appears to be an inverted RPO of "Levis & Camp B'Ton Exp" (Q-38)...but the date is reversed/inverted "6 DE 92" or "26 ED 9"? Does anybody who knows the RPOs of Quebec know this or can explain it? It is the cancel on the lower right corner

The cancel you refer to has an inverted date slug. Not an uncommon occurrence as the postal clerks were often in a rush. The date is likely DE9 26 based on the other cancels.

What I find more interesting is that the clerk for the Sherbrooke & Levis train hasn't noticed that his slug is still for November. Should be DE9 26, not NO9 26. Now that's pretty sloppy work. His supervisor would not be happy.

It's also hard to believe a clerk would not know it was Dec.for a whole month. Yet it left NFLD on DE4 26.

Nice covers indeed. I think that November slug does ad extra interest.
I'm especially taken with the Child Welfare cinderella label on the back. Local charity label? Someone, who has one, should check the Canadian Cinderella Catalogue that is mentioned so often around here.
Wonder if it's in there.

Also just notice the Queen Vic postal stationary. 1926 could be considered late usage I suppose.

3Dadeo: Thank you for the comments on the second cover.. I have 400+ covers but have never seen an "inverted date slug" but as you say feels like not an uncommon occurrence. Also--I totally missed the Nov error which you and jamesw noted.

These two minor oddities together with the rest make it different for sure.

And yes--the late usage of the postal cover (25 years or so) is notable, but not unheard of--with the 24cents, I suppose this was over franked given 1 oz to Canada, but not sure given the registration and three train trips?
