So I read all the threads on duplicates and selling for $$. Im more interested in selling to reduce Duplicates.
After I have determined I have the best specimen in book, the rest goes to stock. Here's the question:
Would it better to sell lots of single denominations, Series Runs, or Misc lots by country?

Guy,

It depends on the stamp values, and where you will be selling. Generally, I tend toward selling in groups to reduce selling fees, time spent on packing and shipping, etc. Selling a stamp on ebay, for example, for 50c, then paying 49c to ship and 30c to ebay isn't very economical. The trick is to find an efficient balance.

Yeah, was thinkin like a couple packs of low value prexies, or a pack of 3c commems. Things like that. Just to reduce stock, get a couple pennies.

My selling happens with the freedom of unlimited auction listing that comes with my ebay store cost.

To tell the truth I do not what I would do if I had to go back to paying per listing..........

Hi,
A couple of months ago, I got together with another Forum member (he in Europe, me in Texas) and we exchanged dups. He sent a package of about 1000 first and I sent him a like amount back. It was a great experience, and I believe we both got several new specimens (or better specimens) out of the deal - which cost us only postage.

My "want" parameter was worldwide, non USA, pre 1961. That worked out very, very well for both of us.

Fortunately for me I get 50 free listing on ebay each month, and could never find the time to exceed than.
Trading would be fun; I haven't gone through my world wide stuff completely, So I dont really know what I have. The dups I do have are from assembling by US Liberty Album.
The only hesitation I have with ebay, is lost mail. I have never had any items lost in the mail until ebay, and Listia. I liked listia because it wasn't real money, but having someone say they didn't get the merchandise feels the same. I've sent things to others here and on the Nscale.net forum and never lost a thing. I even send to others over seas and the product gets there.
I may just put together some packets and let folks here decide if they want them. Like whatever they offer and post. Since I'm not looking to get rich on stamps. LOL

It makes me wonder what the motive is behind this comment....

Well when the poster said he rarely uses his 50 free listing per month....I clicked his ebay icon....and it showed 0 completed/closed/sold listings.
Now do you understand!

I followed the smell and it lead me to a thread in " ebay / StampWants / StampOffers / Auction Sites" called " ebay Sales Traffic 17th Dec To End Jan 2013" and the same person comments.... again I question the motive...

Quote:
I have looked at the 1st 200 of your items....which ends in a few hours, and you have ZERO bids.

same thread same person

According to the ebay search of sold items...
(guess not updated for todays sales)
On 12-22....you sold 6 items for $14.32

I see no reason for a $500 month Anchor store.

Very sad............

$500 a month!?!?! Wha wha whaT????? Holy cow dung!
Well, to clear up an issue, the last things I listed were blocks of 10 from Upper-Volta. that was about 6 months ago. Being that ebay will not allow searches to go back that far it is no wonder you did not see them. I list about 4-8 items annually, so while it is nice that you checked to see if I had anything listed; You affirmed my statement about rarely using my 50 free listings. Really Rarely. So rare that I just found out that ebay says I can do 100 free listings a month. To which I may say that will not happen in my life time.
