Scott 295 "Empire State Express" How Low Can You Go?

Very nice Jenny. I do not think that anyone will beat that one! Doe's anyone else have any dramatic shifts of Scott 295 in there personal collection? I think I am actually the winner so far for illustrating an "owned" Scott 295 "LOW TRAIN". That is of course unless someone buys the ebay stamp,or the seller illustrates it.
More categories! Member owned.. "Fast Train"..."Slow Train"..."High Train"..."Low Train".

I've just completed a PowerPoint presentation for my local Collectors Club. While most of my stamps do not shift as deep as the last image shown it does show all positions.
My favorite image is a bottom strip of eight, the train moves from slow to fast. The sheet used shows movement across the sheet.

I don't see a picture in your post, but would certainly like to see what you are describing.....

A sort through a small pile of used trains netted these shifted vignettes high/low, left/right, and diagonals, with a fairly normal registration in the center. Nothing spetacular, but I think I'll keep this group together.

That bottom right stamp is pretty low and shifted right--very cool!

By the way, after reading posts from last year, I would consider paying 900$ from Siegel auctions for that extreme vignette downwards from Siegel auctions 2001. That is so cool! Everyone has appreciation for different parts of philately, but an extreme vignette shift downwards like that on a nice stamp would look great in any collection. That stamp with extreme shift is rarer than an invert (every year there is one or two for sale!) Vignette shifts that extreme rarely come up for sale. (every 10 years based on these posts). And if this stuff wasn't interesting or collectible, we wouldn't be talking about it in its own thread.

you got me on the down, but I got you on the up!

I tried to highlight intersecting lines pointing to the diamond on second stamp left side-- I used this diamond as reference point with line under train pointing to it as what I would consider a well centered vignette from up/down standpoint. Seems like an easy way to judge the extreme of the shift (UP/DOWN)

Nonscientific way of judging. Perhaps PSE/PF should use this reference point --- just kidding. (or maybe not!)

That siegel auction low vignette shift example would look awesome in an album just left of these.

From my power point comes my favorite bottom strip along with two ebay finds from a couple of weeks ago, both were had for a very nominal price.

cool stamps- especially like the single top left (low fast train!) Your strip shows subtle changes but very interesting to see the vignette shifts from a multiple perspective.

We had a discussion a few years back which suggested using the Pan-Americans for a "clock". Here is the link to my version using a different stamp. I thought it turned out well ... maybe time to make another?
