I have a local stamp company that does monthly auctions. I was able to win a few nice Canadian lots that for some reason didn't attract a lot of attention. Quebec Tercentenary 5˘. This one is a very nice upgrade from my used way off center piece that currently sits in this spot. From the 1935 KGV pictorial issue the 1$ Champlain statue. Last months auction I won another copy that had a facial thin that I missed when bidding. Actually got this MNH very well centered piece for less. |

Quote: My Middle/High School on a postcard sent probably around 1950.
It's always nice to find something that has a personal connection, isn't it? A few days ago, I bought an Esperanto postcard from 1930 with a picture of a site in Japan that I visited 2˝ years ago. (I'll post it when it arrives.) A few years ago, I bought an Esperanto postcard from Germany mainly because it was mailed to an address in Berkeley, California, in the same block as where I currently work. And when I recently searched for my hometown on ebay, I found a cover mailed to my uncle in 1949! |

I got my copy of Encyclopedia of United States Stamps and Stamp Collecting.
I skimmed it and not as "wordy" (lots of dense sections of text) as I thought but no idea about content coverage. |
