The Generations: Many stamps depict hands of the very young and the no longer young. They belong to my favorites because they show trust and protection. This one honors support for children by the UN. (The sheet measures 10x7 cm. Does anyone know the name of the artist?)

Hi Primoz, The two of Richard Strauss are great, there must be about 40 years age difference between the two portraits, and yet the hand gesture is almost identical!

The Generations: The International Year of the Child (1979) is honored in this sheet. The UN emblem and the painting fit perfectly. (Again I don't know the name of the artist. The sheet measures 8x10 cm.)

The Generations: Here's another stamp that honors the UN (UNICEF) with a photo of hands representing trust between two generations.

The Generations: This painting on the French stamp is so beautifully done - the older generation spreads out the scroll of an intact environment to the child; even the insects being caught by the swallow are there. It is a call to us to make this scene possible. (Design by Christian Broutin, who also did several other popular French stamps)

The Generations: 1999 was the UN International year of Seniors; this German stamp included the very young in its commemorative issue.
(Hi Primoz, The international response coupon of Bulgaria on an earlier post does have the same design. Great to see it again. Hi Tantsbsac, your Mexican stamp is really a work of modern art and genetic science for diagnostic purposes is as well, especially thinking of Ebola.)

The Generations: "Past and Future in our Hands" is such a simple, powerful statement. The Russian Army reached what was left of Auschwitz in January 1945.

The Generations: Another design showing trust and friendship between two generations; a crocus is being passed on. (Hi Nethryk, Nice to see another engraver at work. The small sheet of Norway (1991) also belongs here if you have it. K.)

Kris Rascher - Thanks. Sorry, I don't have an example of the 1991 Norway souvenir sheet you mentioned in my collection. However, I do have this relevant Norway stamp:

Hands holding the first number of the first Norwegian weekly periodical, designed and engraved by Knut Løkke-Sørensen, and issued by Norway on October 5, 1984 as one of two stamps in a set commemorating the 150th anniversary of the Norwegian weekly press, Scott No. 849, Facit No. 947. Note the ruffled wrist cuffs!

Hi Nethryk, This is the Norwegian 1991 set I mentioned. Day of the postage stamp, 11th of October. Nice to see the tools of the trade. In Michel the stamps have the numbers 1070-1073. (The stamps themselves don't feel like they were printed from engraved plates and I can't make out who did the design.)
