Azerbaijan issued an anti-terror stamp in 2003 (Europa) showing one way of defusing terror. Note: also in English. Does anyone know what large building is in the background?

One way to combat climate change is to plant trees, as seen in this UN stamp of 2001. The leaves reminded me of those on a ginkgo tree.

(Hi, Bookbob, Somewhere I read that the pointing-finger cancel had to be withdrawn because one simply doesn't point one's finger at the Queen. Is there any truth to that?)

Kris, I have not heard the "queen and finger" story. The placement of the cancel is odd, and it would tend to be that way on most envelopes.

I look for and collect "political" messages that people send by manipulating stamps and cancels. Most of these items are from Germany. Here is a cover from Lothringen/Lorraine sent to Copenhagen during world war I where I am sure the "Deutsches Reich" inscription on the stamp was purposely folded under.
