Is This Red Berlin Overprint OK?

It's on a high value stamp, so I'm always skeptical (while keeping fingers crossed of course). Hopefully the cancel is also OK.

These overprints are heavily forged. One article I read suggested that 90% or more of these are fakes. I can't offer an opinion on the authenticity of this stamp other than to recommend getting it certified.

If the previous statement on fakes is true, you have a very low chance of it being authentic.

Oh Brian you are seriously pessimistic - why look at 90% being fake, when you can look at 10% being real

After some image manipulation, I can clearly see that the cancel is comfortably on top of the overprint and that the cancel of Wilmersdorf is in period. I can make out the date (?)7.9.4(?) which also looks OK.

These stamps no longer sell for much money, so it's not really worthwhile to get a cert, but after just now looking at many that have been certified, (and unless I'm told differently) I'm pretty confident that mine is authentic
