I couldn't find any postal stationery topics here on a search but I would like to know, if anyone knows, how many 1c QV young queen postal envelopes were issued starting on 22 July 1898. This information is omitted in Canada: Its Postage Stamps and Postal Stationery, by Clifton Armstrong Howes, as far as I can tell.
My seventh edition of Webb's is getting worn out from use but I don't think Webb's has issue numbers. Howes' book has a lot of that information but not on all issues. Somewhere there could be someone who knows! You can find an online version of Howes' book at http://www.gutenberg.org/files/3745.../37457-h.htm -- its a fantastic book.
Reg, as sak already correctly stated, Webb's is THE best reference. However, if you do not have access to Webb's, there is also a section in the Unitrade Catalogue that lists Canadian postal stationery. It may not be as thorough or concise as Webb's, but, it should give you the information you need.
Hi Bujutsu--- As I mentioned in the last message I do have Webb's. Unless there is a section somewhere in the back (not mentioned in the index) that I haven't seen (and my copy is wearing out from use) there are no issue numbers in general to be found in Webb's 2001, 7th edition. Maybe there is a Unitrade catalog in the local library, I'll check, I've never see one. Webb's is a good catalog but Howes' book is an excellent source of detailed information on QV postal stationery.
