Well, I was really bored and decided to sort through my Scott 832, 1938 Woodrow Wilson Presidentials. All used ... all faulty to a substantial degree. But then ...

I assume that this could be done with many bi-color stamps. Woody just doesn't know whether he should be in the middle, the right, the left, up, down, or somewhere in-between. Here is my best examples of the various placements on the 12-hour clock.

Come to think of it ... I don't think any of my stamps were actually well-centered.

Any ideas on other stamps that would be good candidates for a "clock"?

It would be sort of neat to see maybe Scott #294 or #295 from the Pan-American set done like that. That is a really creative thing you done and very I'm happy to see it! Again, Neat!

What a fun idea! I'd love to see Prexies (which of course include values from 1 to 12 cents) on a clock

The point is that the vignette is shifted to the positions of the times noted on the clock. A monocolored stamp would not work.

Very nice display. I thought you might like seeing this small group I did for a collector/friend of mine last year. I obviously agree with I_Love_Stamps that the 1901 Pan-Ams are great candidates for "around the clock" displays.

BTW, I think the Scott C3 Curtiss Jenny airmail is one of the most popular (but more expensive) US stamps to do this sort of thing with. Some of the nice varieties (e.g. grounded plane) can run into the hundreds or thousands of dollars.

Very Nice.

Since I can't ever seem to throw anything away, I take the damaged stamps I have and make things with them. I decoupage them onto lamp shades or make small pictures out of them (like below) and give them away to friends.

Thanks all ... it was fun and a good waste of a few hours of time. I love the idea of using scrap/damaged stamps for a collage, and the idea of a Prexie clock (though monocolored) also makes a lot of sense. I'll keep looking and see what else comes to mind.
