The design dates from 1871 and is still in use today.
The horn is a posthorn, standard symbol of the postal service in many European states. The crown represents the King, as this is an issue of the official State postal service. In each corner is a wheel from a train, indicating that mail is sent via the speedy train service between major cities, the high-technology of the day. The wheels have wings, further representing the speed of the mails transported by rail. The use of an oval band with text (country name and denomination) was a fairly common design element on stamps of that era.
This is the 1910 (November) issue, Scott #85, SG #144, Norgeskatalogen #103. It is known as the Posthorn re-engraved issue of 1909-1937. This value printed from October 1910 until February 1921 by Knudsen.
