I know that some topics require periodic editing, but the 24 hour restriction doesn't allow you to edit them.

I've come up with something to try to get around the problem. I've created a new forum for editing topics.

Here's how it will work. When you want to edit the topic hit the Note to Staff link and send a note that you need to edit it. When you get the email that the topic has been moved you should be able to edit it. When you're done, use the Note to Staff link again to have it moved back. Please include which forum it need to go back to as its not always clear to me.

Please note: This is not to be used for random posts just commenting on other things. This is for educational topics that may need to be tweaked from time to time or have information added.

We'll try it for a while and see how it goes.

Send note to Staff

Would there be a better time to ask for a move, board time, from and to?

Or, perhaps it will happen when it happens, as permitted and available?

Not picjy, just wishing to be clear on permissions.

Thanks.

Time doesn't matter. When there are a notes to Staff pending it just puts a big red number at the top of the forum and the next Staff member that sees it takes care of it.

I tried and got refused!

I wanted to make the title clearer.

There is a title I would like to change for search reasons and to have a more correct title.

Title as it is: Australia 2013 WWI Light Horse Issue.

Change to: Australia 100th Celebration 1st Stamp Issues.

It would be nice to get all the issues released into the specific thread being this one as it has developed this way.

Is this an example of what this edit rule is all about?

Just a quick title change like this... you can use the note to staff link on the topic in question and just type in the new title you would like.

Thank you KirkS!

Sadly I have made a mistake! I am very sorry!

Please be patient with me. I am going to need two changes to fix my mistake. I will do as note to staff. Sorry again.

No, no, friend. No need to apologize.

I wasn't complaining -- I was just trying to document everything so we can make sure the process is working. I should have explained better.

I appreciate you and your contributions to SCF.

Krik
