It is a little known fact that GB self-adhesive stamps were developed at the request of the queen. Her head appears on all GB stamps and she is quoted as saying..."one gets tired of all those peasants licking the back of my neck in order to place a postage stamp on their tiresome letters". Hence the advent of self-adhesives in the UK.
But... the queen (Brenda the Second) seems to have lost patience at her head being placed on the ever increasing amounts of stamps depicting...er...er...anything under the sun with no relevence to anyone and she seems to have developed legs and a body and is soon to be seen walking off...(into the wide world of reality perhaps where Brenda and Phil can retire from the constant foreign travel, garden parties and ceremonials... leaving Charlie to have HIS neck licked by peasants and see how he likes it!)
