Hi Everyone, I've dug out some postcards and am wondering about the date of the green stamp. I tried online but many state it's from 1860 - 1870, but that can't be right, right? I mean, someone would have hung on to this stamp for 30 - 40 years and then used it as I THINK the postmark '01' stands for 1901?
I am going to try and see if I can go online translate the front words. Here are the photos and thank you all! Sue (SueStamps)
Oh Sue, what a romantic card you have dug out. On the left margin I read "je vous aime" and the poem also is nice We loved each other / and we were hidden secretly /like two almonds / covered by their shell. And the handwritten is "cordial greetings from CR and best thanks for the received "..? Enjoy your card!
