This stamp was given to my Romanian maternal grandfather for tutoring the son of the Romanian king in the early 20th century. I believe it to be valuable, perhaps unique, but don't know how to go about getting it evaluated for eventual auction. It is part of an extensive collection that I inherited. Any suggestions of where to go next would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hello CaptainFred, and welcome to the forum.

I believe what you have is a "Mis-cut"

As to the value, I have no idea.

Try doing a google search for Romanian Philatelic Societies
and perhaps you can send a scan of your stamp to them

The stamp is a 50 Bani yellow/orange from 1922, Scott# 267.
Listed on this site as "Shifted-printers waste?"... http://www.romaniastamps.com/sc/1908-1927.htm

No value given though.

Steve
