Just reflecting on things I miss . Back in the 80s when I started collecting I used to get these stock books loaded with stamps all in proper order with the different shades and varieties of the cheaper stamps .The stamps were priced by book , 1cent , 3cent etc .Now that I have a better sense of what I need , I miss this service .Bernie

Hi,
If only someone had told us back then........."These are the good ol days!"

And of course, in years to come folks will look back to 2014 and say, "gee I miss those good ol days"...............

All the clues were there, mobilman, our mums, dads, uncles, aunts et al repeatedly telling us about their 'good old days'. We just never worked out that we were living through ours.

For those who like to read about U.S. social history, find a book called "The Good Old Days, They Were Terrible!" by historian Otto L. Bettmann.

New Yorker cartoon caption: "On the internet, nobody knows you're a dog."

And nobody knows you can't carry a tune, either:

The good ole days of stamp collecting was the 1990's when I would go to various stamp auctions and the only people who were bidding on the big box lots ,junk lots and end of auction mixture lots . It was just me and some old guy over 80 years old bidding .I would fill the whole back end and rear seats for $350.00 and the auction firm would give me two or three lots filled with supplies because nobody bid on those . Those were the days .
