Hello Battlestamps Will! First I like to say that even though I am new to this Stamp Community, I have observed that you offer a great service to all! Thank you.

As for this "cover", I want to say how beautiful it is! I know absolutely nothing about it and sincerely hope that is in fact a cover. What an addition for someones cover collection. John

Thanks for the compliment John! Welcome and hope to see you around more. The above is an envelope - for what I don't know. I can't tell if it passed through the mail or not. I'll feel silly if it's something like a bank deposit envelope, but I won't know till I ask.

I have a sheet of Chinese numerals that I grabbed some years back off of one of the forums and I don't see any matches there.

This is Japanese. It appears to be an internal Post Office cover between the simple insurance organisation (run by the Japanese Post Office) in Kyoto, to the Soja branch in Okayama Prefecture.

I can't see a date on it, but the old forms of the characters date it some time pre-1954.
