Unitrade. In my opinion, Unitrade's Canada catalogue is easy to use, has great illustrations, and is the best value on the market. It's a shame they don't make catalogues for other countries ...

I use Scott for WW. For the countries I collect in-depth, I use the countries' specialized catalogs for detailed information: US-Scott Specialized, Canada-Unitrade, Brazil-RHM, Ireland-MacDonnel/Whyte and Hibernian and for Germany-Deutschland-Spezial.

From an organizational standpoint, I prefer the Michel system. Basically it is organized by design type with all the variations listed as minor numbers/letters all in one place. IMHO, it beats the schizophrenic organization of Scott. I even bought a Michel USA-Spezial for reference. From a practical standpoint though, Scott numbers rule in North America if you want to buy or sell.

Experienced stamps need a home too. I'd rather have an example that is imperfect than no example.
I collect for enjoyment, not investment.

Like a lot of people, I use Scott for general identification and worldwide uses. Since I'm not trying to ascertain value, I do use an older set (currently 2007).

For Israel and Palestine I supplement Scott with Bales and Krause-Minkus (or maybe Scott supplements them?). I have ordered a Moriah catalog for Israel. Should be here any day.

For Haiti. Well there are no specific catalogs. Can't understand for the life of me why! :-)

Scott Specialized for U.S. and their Classic for worldwide pre-1900, in my case.
Unitrade for Canada, Yes it is probably the easiest to use and best illustrated catalog.
Facit for Scandinavian.

OK - in that perspective, Unitrade.

I think Unitrade doesn't do other countries because they use Scott numbers. I don't know if Scott would let them.
