Thanks, I appreciate all of the feedback. I've checked the feedback for these sellers, and I believe that they are all positive, which is why I'm just checking for a few more opinions here. Some of the negative feedback some of the sellers received was due to shipping abroad where the package was lost in the mail, which I can understand, especially if they sell thousands of stamps.
I usually use sniping software where I bid on
ebay, and I typically only win something like 5-10% of the auctions that I bid on. Usually, I check past
ebay prices for what that item sold for, so I roughly set my snipes a little less than the average price that the item sold for to get a good price. (If the item is really nice, I'll pay more for it.) Basically, this means that I bid on a lot of items, so I don't like to bother sellers too much for items that I will usually not win. The seller already may have already stated that the stamps is NH, OG, so it seems silly to ask them whether they are sure it is OG. I'll start another thread on this, but sometimes when the seller states the stamps is OG, the scan shows the gum to be thicker and darker than gum on other stamps of that same kind from other sellers. So sometimes, I'm not sure if maybe the seller made a mistake or if there's always variation in the gum for that type of stamp.
Also, and I'll bring up gsquared7 as an example here, that seller wrote some FAQ's on
ebay on how to tell regummed, etc, so it seems that seller is really knowledgeable about stamps. However, he doesn't show the back scan of the stamp, only the front. He does describe the stamp including faults in the description. Should I just trust him that he knows what he's selling even though I can't see the back scan? I'd hate to ask him for back scans esp if I only win very few of his auctions. Yet, he may be an expert, so I should just trust his listings. His stamps also seem to sell a little higher than other
ebay sellers for the same stamps, so perhaps other buyers also trust his opinion. I'd rather not just buy a bunch of his stamps and see for myself as that can become expensive. That's kind of the dilemma I am in.
Also, I could also not bid, but I'd hate to rule out a perfectly fine seller on
ebay if I don't need to.
Thanks again for any assistance!
